With over 20 years experience in the organ business I am a chest builder, work on installations, do service work and coordinate our organ shipments. I am a devoted father of three. I enjoy woodworking, watercolor painting and bee keeping. In fact, some of the bees I keep are just outside the pipe shop door

Duane Grosse
My first degree was in journalism and art. After school I worked in the photography field for over 20 years. My parents knew that I loved woodworking and one Sunday they went to an open house at this local pipe organ company called Bedient Pipe Organ.

They came back telling me about all of the quality craftsmanship and woodworking. A couple of years later, I found myself needing a job and saw an opening at Bedient. I applied and was told it was for pipe making, not woodworking; but I would get to do some of that also. They hired me as a pipe maker, which I still do 16 years later.Pipe organ building seems like a very good combination of art and craftsmanship for wood, metal and music. It has been a rare opportunity to work for a company that has allowed me to practice my ‘art’ in so many ways.
